Defining the Entities Managed in Your System

Click menu option in homepage, click “System Configuration”, click “Entities”, it will redirect you to Entities page or on homepage click “Start” button under “Create Entity” section.

About Entities

As a first step for an IoT platform, you will need to identify and define “What are the Things I’d like to connect and manage within the platform. An Entity represents a model for various types of “Things”. Once an “Entity” has been defined within the system, each instance of that Entity will have:

  1. A Qliktag which is a unique identifier in the Qliktag system to locate a Thing
  2. A data model that defines the attributes of the Things being represented by the Entity.
  3. A list of the key attributes (other than the Qliktag) that uniquely identify an instance of the Entity over the internet.
  4. Relationships to other Entities
