Here is a list of terms which appear within the Qliktag Platform and documentation related to the platform.

Application | An Application represents a web or native application that interacts with the Qliktag Platform. An Application created within the Master Account made be made available to all Application Users within Auxiliary Accounts and if they make use of the Application User key will restrict the user to the resources available to the Auxiliary Account. |
Attributes | Any property that describes a Thing. |
Auxiliary Accounts | This is any account that is created and linked to a Master Account and is part of the same tenant. An Auxiliary Account can represent a Company, Project, Data Provider, Data Recipient or any combination of these. Any resources created in Auxiliary Accounts are visible to the Master Account. In addition, the administrators of Auxiliary Accounts and Master Accounts can make their resources visible to other Auxiliary Accounts. |
Batch Operation | A Batch Operation is any operation that performs Digital Interactions in bulk. A Batch Operation may be synchronous or asynchronous. |
Client Key | A string combined with the Client Secret allows authenticated access to the Qliktag Platform. There are several kinds of keys in the Qliktag Platform: Account Key, Application Key and User Key |
Master Account | This is the main account for each subscriber to the platform. It is the only account that is created when a subscriber is first set up. All Auxiliary Accounts are created from this account. All resources such as Entities , Entity Instances, Data Models are stored and linked with this account |
Data Channel | A Data Channel is a transformation of an Entity Instance into a format for external consumption. A Data Channel is a special form of Digital Interaction Template where the action involves extracting and transforming the Entity Instance data to a format specified as part of the Data Channel |
Digital Interaction | A single invocation of a Standard API, Data Channel, Custom API or Visual Interaction API against any Entity Instance/Thing. There are four types of Digital Interactions – Standard Interactions, Custom Interactions, Data Interactions and Visual Interactions |
Digital Interaction Template | Defines the form of the interaction. The Digital Interaction Template can either be a Standard API, Visual Interaction Template, Custom Flow or Data Channel |

Export | An Export is an asynchronous Batch Operation for extracting Entity Instances directly or via a Data Channel using a Filter. The extracted Instances may be extracted in various formats such as Excel, JSON, XML. and CSV and sent to any Transport Channel such as JSON, XML, SMTP, Message Queue etc. |
Filter | Filter is a means by which to retrieve or edit a subset of resources. A Filter is used for multiple purposes such as the search screen, access via an API, exports, etc. |
Import | An Import is a batch operation for creating Entity Instances/Things. The data for the Things to be created may be provided in various formats such as Excel, JSON, XML and CSV and sent through various Transport Channels such as FTP, HTTP, SMTP, Message Queue, etc. |
User | Users are users that have access to the Qliktag Platform console. Users can also be end users of applications |
Qliktag | A globally unique identifier used to identify a resource in the Qliktag Platform. |
Qliktag Dashboard | The Qliktag Dashboard shows an overview of the resources associated with an Account. |
Resource | Any resource within the Qliktag Platform, such as Entity, Entity Instance (Thing), Data Model, View, Digital Interaction etc. |
Short Domain | Either qlkt.ag or one provided by a subscriber |
Short ID | A short identifier for any Entity Instance or Digital Interaction Template or combination of the two |
Thing | Any Entity Instance |
Transport Channel | A source or destination of the data for a Batch Operation. A Transport Channel may be an FTP site, an external API, Dropbox, etc. |
